Day Thirty-Eight – הַיּוֹם שְׁמוֹנָה וּשְׁלֹשִׁים לָעֹמֶר
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. Acts 1:8

“Power with a Purpose”
God empowered His disciples for a purpose. They would take the gospel of the Messiah through the whole world. They would not be able to do this in their own strength. God’s provisions were given in order to equip groups of people to make disciples of Yeshua. A spiritual and physical family would grow only because they would be equipped by God for the tasks at hand. Can we do anything for God in our own power? Do we really need to be connected to Him always? What entails being a witness for God? How are we to share His truth?
• How can I know the power of God’s truth in my mind and not confuse it with a “me” centered strength?
• Discuss this truth with someone today: Yeshua described Himself as a vine and His disciples as branches. Apart from Him we can do nothing.
• Read the first part of John 15 where Yeshua uses agricultural imagery to communicate truth about a spiritual harvest in the lives of His people. How do we experience this in our families and communities? How does this relate to sharing the gospel with others?
