Counting the Omer Day 43
Day Forty-Three – הַיּוֹם שְׁלֹשָׁה וְאַרְבָּעִים לָעֹמֶר
For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.
1Thessalonians 2:13
But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
2Thessalonians 2:13

“And God spoke and it was…”
Most people are familiar with the story of creation in the book of Genesis. This real life event happened just as it is written. God spoke and creation came into being. It is in this context that we should consider all the rest of God’s words. He is the designer and planner behind everything we see or that which will ever be seen. What an awesome thought that is! The incredible variety of sights, sounds, tastes, and textures are all part of His creative design. Everything that has been designed by computers, to printed books, to ovens for cooking bread, and even the bread itself were all contained in some form in those things which God initially spoke into being. The testimony of Scripture is that God is and He has revealed Himself to people. He is the ultimate “real thing.”
• Help me Lord to be more in awe of You as I see and consider all your created wonders. How can I remember to slow down and “smell the roses” and give thanks to you? Make a list of simple things that amaze you in God’s creations.
• Consider today how amazing the human body is.
• Read together in a group Prov 8:22-36. Discuss Wisdom’s role in creation and our need to embrace Her.
