Counting the Omer Day 49
Day Forty-Nine – הַיּוֹם תִּשְׁעָה וְאַרְבָּעִים לָעֹמֶר
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Yeshua Messiah our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
Jude 24–25

“He is able…”
We need to run a race. The days of our life can be compared to a marathon. We may not know how much longer we have to run but we do know that God is able to keep us from stumbling. We are encouraged in many scriptures to do the hard work that God gives us. When we are doing God’s work, God’s way, we can count on Him to supply the resources. He is able to keep us running. We count on Him–personally–to be a part of the work we do. He is pleased to be with us and in us. Do you see God as a co-worker as well as a boss?
• As I am working hard today, how do I recognize Your support in my work? What things can I thank You for today?
• Discuss with someone today what it means that God is the one with all glory, power, and majesty.
• In a group, read together the key verses for today and 1 Cor 9:24-25. Discuss the idea of running a race. Where is joy found? Is running a joyful thing? What is the prize at the end of all true members of God’s family? How does this help us in hard times?
