5th and 6th Verses – The Word
The Word
In week 5 and 6 week we look at two verses that help us to understand and train others. We will seek to understand how the Word of God functions in the life of a believer. The passage from Joshua (in context) shows God’s instructions to the one who was charged with leading His people into the Land of Promise. It speaks of a saturation in God’s Instruction (Torah/Law) in such a way as to understand and apply it. This includes seeing it work in relationships and life until the fruit of the Instruction brings about true success and prosperity. To flourish in God’s ways requires His means. We can’t expect to grow the Fruit of the Spirit planting wead seeds from our flesh. The metaphors of gardening are rich in the Bible and give us clear illustrations of how people who trust in their Creator and Designer discover what is best for them. Praise God – He has revealed His truth in His written word.

Digging Deeper
I want to change over from a weekly journal page to a lesson plan format from this week forward. I still hope that you will keep in mind these relationships as you dig into the weekly lesson plan:
1. Connecting with God
2. Connecting with another and
3. Discussing in a group
I want to suggest that part of discipleship is to train trainers to train trainers… See if you can read through this lesson and complete it on your own. Consider age apporpriate training and how this lesson plan might be used to train someone. With the target of preparing them to train other trainers, work through this lesson plan and consider creative ways to illustrate the concepts presented (one example will be given each week).
